Some reporters argued that Solange may have overreacted in her sister’s defense. As for the notorious private couple, the actions let their actions speak on their behalf.

The question on everyone’s lips was why did Beyoncé stood back and did not get involved on her sister’s infamous burst-up with Jay-Z? Did Solange had reasons to be mad at her brother-in-law?

Speculations were prompted regarding Jay-Z’s friendship with designer Rachel Roy as being too friendly at the Met Gala and made Solange very uncomfortable. An insider told Hollywood Life ‘Beyoncé also confronted Rachel and said, “Don’t talk to my sister like that,” after confronted Solange.

The incident took place in the elevator at the stars exit when Solange snapped and attacked Jay-Z for his attempt to go to Rihanna’s after party, where Solange believed that Rachel would also be.Rachel was previously married to Jay-Z’s manager and partner Damon Dash.
Jay Z, Solange, elevator attackA second theory is presented by New York Daily News in which Jay-Z snapped at Solange for using his name to get two of her uninvited friends at the after-party at The Standard hotel in Manhattan that night. Solange was described by a source as “drunk and irritated” and having asked Beyoncé: “Why does your husband need to go to the club right now?” and Jay-Z replied: “You’re the one to talk,” the words that presumably made Solange burst.

Later, Beyoncé, who could not do wrong this year, made a reference in her remixed song “Flawless” saying “Of course sometimes shit goes down when it’s a billion dollars on the elevator…” Critics say that this would have been a marketing move and Senior Beyoncé’s Correspondent Jessica Williams sorts the incident out saying that this was nothing but an 110 percent staged “brilliant Queen Bey marketing campaign” and that there are no tensions or actual fights between the trio.
