6. Ant-Man (2015)
Although Ant-Man is one of the founders and member of the first Avengers team in the comics, he’s quite unknown to people who aren’t readers of comic books. But once again, Marvel has proved that the company knows how to deliver a funny, well-crafted and amusing film.
The Story
The story may not have a large alien invasion, but has what’s necessary to present this particular character. When the ant-man appears shrunk, seeing the world in totally different perspective, thanks to the way they produced these scenes regarding the camera takes, the sounds, they’re very absorbing making us desire to see more of it.
While you’re watching, you should pay attention in details, because the director has already said in some particular scenes, there’re some Easter eggs and you have to look closely to notice. The links with the rest of the MCU and special appearances don’t seem forced at all and fit perfectly during the story.
The Cast
Scott Lang is played by Paul Rudd, he has a solid and charismatic performance and manages to gain sympathy from the public due to his delightful relationship with his daughter, Cassie Lang (Abby Ryder Fortson). Michael Douglas plays Hank Pym, the first Ant-Man, he has a troubled relationship with his daughter, Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly).
Instead of having a happy and lovely relation, they don’t get along with each other, this particular aspect provides more subject to be explored making them more convincing. This movie has a strong focus on the family and its maintenance to in the end be a pleasant and healthy relationship with the people you love.
Overall, the characters are very well and the performances successfully create each characters’ personality, but the one who steals the show is Michael Peña, playing Luis, Scott Lang’s friend. Every scene which he’s in is hilarious; the way Luis portrays, how and what he talks is so funny.
In the end, Ant-Man is another success by Marvel in the cinema, this film is a very warm welcome to this character in the MCU and we can’t stop wondering what will be done with him in the future films.
5. Deadpool (2016)
Deadpool is an upcoming Marvel Studios movie about a mercenary/ superhero. There were initial talks to produce a Deadpool with director David S. Goyer film 2004 but negations fell through because Goyer lost interest in favor of other projects. Another attempt took place after the success of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine as a spin-off, but producer Lauren Shuler Donner chose to ignore the Deadpool of X-Men Origins: Wolverine and reboot the fictional character.
It was decided that the film will be a part of the X-men universe and that Wade Wilson will be keeping his characteristics from the comic books, of breaking the 4th wall (talking directly to the audiences, being aware that he is a fictional character).
Ever since his first appearance in the in the comic book universe of X-men in 1991, he has been portrayed as a comic relief assassin, which has earned him the title of the deadliest comedian in the world. Not much is known about his childhood, but what is known is that he took part in the Weapon X Program because he was looking to cure his cancer.
Deadpool was depicted as a super villain when he made his first appearance in the comic book world, dubbing himself as the “Merc with a Mouth” because of his talkative nature and tendencies of breaking the fourth wall, which was used by the writers for humor effect and to top it all the experiments to make him into a weapon and cure his cancer has left him disfigured and mentally unstable.
The film Deadpool will be the eight instalment of the X-men series and will be directed by Tim Miller. The roll of the fictional anti-hero will be played by Ryan Reynolds, the same actor who played him in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
There will be other characters appearing from the X-men universe, like Colossus/ Piotr Rasputin who will be portrayed by Andre Tricoteux and Negasonic Teenage Warhead played by Brianna Hildebrand. Other actors making an appearance will be Morena Baccarin who will play Wade Wilsons fiancée, the comedian/ actor T.J. Miller who will play as Wade’s best friend Weasel and Deadpool’s roommate Leslie Uggams as Blind Al.
4. Captain America: Civil War (2016)
The upcoming “Captain America: Civil war” will be a film which will borrow concepts from the 2006 comic book limited series “Civil War” by Mark Millar. All of the Avengers, Iron-Man, Thor and Captain America films have been a built up for just this exact moment in the Marvel Universe story-line and they will be using this movie as a melting pot for all the superhero characters. We shall see all kinds off heroes interacting with each other, may that be to forge alliances or to wage war on each other.

Just like in the comic, a crucial event takes place that forces the hand of the people in power resulting in the creation of system of accountability and a governing body similar to a “registration act” to determine when to call in the Avengers. This move breaks the team while they try to protect the world from a new threat.
