Like most years in recent history, 2018 is going to be very generous when it comes to superhero movies. This year, there are many sequels to fan-favorite films, as well as new releases that millions of people are awaiting to hit the big screen. We here at 6toplists love superhero movies, so it comes as no surprise that we would make a toplist of the best upcoming superhero movies in 2018. If you’re a Marvel or DC fan just like us, you’re sure to have a great time reading this list.

Now, let’s tackle the list of the most anticipated superhero films, as that’s why everybody’s here. So, without further ado, here are our personal picks for the top6 upcoming superhero movies in 2018.
6. Aquaman

The character of Aquaman did not have the best reputation until he was perfectly portrayed in 2017’s Justice League movie by Jason Momoa. Not only did he make the character badass, but he also made the Atlantean an interesting addition to the already unique cast.
So far, there’s not much that we know about the plot of the movie, but at least we have the basic list of the cast. Jason Momoa will portray Arthur Curry (Aquaman), Amber Heard will play Mera, and we will also see Patrick Wilson as the Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Nicole Kidman Aquaman’s mother and a few other huge Hollywood stars will make an appearance too.

Aquaman is going to be the sixth movie in the DC Extended Universe. So far, DC’s cinematic universe has had its up and downs. Wonder Woman was a great success, while many people considered Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to be a horrible film. We’re having high hopes for Aquaman, as this is one of those superheroes that really deserves a remake and a new image. Hopefully, Jason Momoa’s performance will bring the character to new heights. 5. Ant-Man and The Wasp

In 2015 when Ant-Man was released, nobody had high hopes for this movie. Everybody thought that it would be a generic superhero flick with a rather boring storyline. I mean, Ant-Man, how interesting could it be? The first film surprised everybody, as it was a unique take on the superhero genre. The humor was smart and the action sequences were spot on. This is why so many people are having high hopes for the sequel: Ant-Man and The Wasp.
The cast will remain the same with Paul Rudd taking the main role of Scott Lang (aka Ant-Man), Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne (The Wasp) and Michael Peña as Scott Lang’s friend Luis. Of course, there are many new faces appearing too, such as Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster (aka Goliath) and many others.

The second film is set to pick up right after Captain America: Civil War. Scott will have to run from the law once again because of what happened in Civil War. Other than that, there’s really not much that we know about the plot of the film. Apparently, Hope van Dyne’s mother will make an appearance (the original Wasp), and we also know that Laurence Fishburne’s Goliath will be the main villain of the story. We will have to wait for an officially released trailer for more information.

4. Venom

We are Venom! When you least expect it, Marvel gives us yet another project that we can get excited for. The only time we got to see Venom on the big screen was in 2007’s Spider-Man 3, and let’s face it; that wasn’t a very good portrayal of the character.
Well, seems like 2018 might be the year we get an interesting Venom, especially when we consider the fact that Tom Hardy is going to play Eddie Brock. According to the movie’s IMDb page, we will also see Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Riz Ahmed as Dr. Carlton Drake and Woody Harrelson will make an appearance too.
Tom Hardy is a fantastic actor who portrayed many different (and unique) characters over his career. Check out the movies he starred in on his IMDb page!
We don’t know much about the plot of the movie yet, but Tom Hardy has promised fans that he is going to do his best at portraying one of their favorite characters. We all know that Tom Hardy is a great actor and that he can perfectly play unique roles, so there’s a chance that this will be a good film. Tom Hardy has also already played in a superhero movie. 3. Black Panther
When the Black Panther first appeared in Captain America: Civil War, fans immediately knew that we are getting a new superb character added to the superhero roster. Chadwick Boseman’s portrayer of the character was spot on and fans can’t wait to see what Marvel has in store for them.
Unlike many other movies on the list, we actually know a few things about the Black Panther film. The cast of the movie will have Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa (Black Panther), Michael B. Jordan will play Erik Killmonger (the villain of the movie) and we will also see Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whitaker and many other high class Hollywood actors and actresses.

The story of the film will pick up right after Civil War, as T’Challa goes back to Wakanda after his father’s death. He returns as the Black Panther and the King of Wakanda, but when two of his enemies team up, he needs the help of his allies to stop a world war from happening.

2. Deadpool 2

Deadpool is one of the most unique characters in the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe (or any universe for that matter). The first movie brought us a whole new level of superhero movies; full of violent action scenes and dark humor. People loved the first movie and millions of fans are highly anticipating the second film in the franchise.
Just like the first Deadpool movie, the second one’s marketing campaign is also spot on. Ryan Reynolds and his team deliver smart and extremely funny advertisement for the movie. Even the trailer is a Bob Ross reference and spoof. Of course, there are a few scenes from the film too (which is highly appreciated), but that’s not the main point of the trailer. Just like the first one we got, with Deadpool failing to save a man from being mugged because he can’t put on his super suit.
The cast of Deadpool 2 will consist of Ryan Reynolds as the merc with the mouth, Josh Brolin as Cable, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Jack Kesy as Black Tom Cassidy and many others.

Everybody who loved the first Deadpool movie is highly anticipating the second one. If the team behind this superhero film manages to keep the same high quality humor and storytelling, we are in for a treat. Hopefully, we won’t be disappointed in the sequel to this amazing movie. 1. Avengers: Infinity War

Everything that happened in the MCU since the first Iron Man movie was released has been leading up to this point. Avengers: Infinity War; Earth’s Mightiest Heroes versus Thanos. As with any Thanos storyline, the Infinity Stones will play a huge role and they are most probably going to give Thanos the edge over our favorite heroes.
This is going to be one of the biggest cinematic crossovers ever. We are going to see some of the largest Marvel heroes and heroines, such as Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Vision (Paul Bettany), Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and the list goes on. The stellar cast ensures that we are probably not going to be disappointed by this new Avengers release.

One of the main reasons why people are excited about this film is because of the villainous Thanos. Many people criticize Marvel movies that their villains are not very good. Well, all of this is going to change when we see Josh Brolin’s Thanos on the big screen. This character is supposed to be one of the most powerful beings in the whole Marvel Universe, so he needs to be portrayed that way. And I can’t think of a better actor than Josh Brolin to show us exactly how powerful this villain is! Hopefully, we won’t be disappointed by his performance or the movie in general.
