In many cases, when a famous person has a child, it is very likely that they are going to end up in the spotlight just like their parents. The reasoning behind this is not solely because of their father’s or mother’s fame, but also because of their personal talents. There are many youngsters who exceed their parents in Hollywood, while there are also some who have tried and failed.

In this article, we will take a closer look at some of the most famous children of celebrities and see what they have accomplished so far.


15. Eva Amurri – Daughter of Susan Sarandon

Susan Sarandon is an Academy Award winning actress and Eva Amurri is her daughter who also does acting. Eva only has a few movies that she starred in, but she is still young and there are many opportunities for her.

Eva Amurri’s filmography mostly consists of small roles in TV shows, such as How I Met Your Mother, The Mindy Project, New Girl and Californication. There are a few movies in which she can be seen alongside her mother as well.

 


14. Sofia Coppola – Daughter of Francis Ford Coppola

Francis Ford Coppola directed one of the best movie franchises ever; the Godfather trilogy. He was a very influential director and producer and his daughter, Sofia Coppola also tried her luck with writing and directing. Some of her movies are: Lost in Translation and Marie Antoinette. She also landed a few nice acting jobs, such as starring in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace as well as each of the Godfather movies.


13. Chris Pine – Son of Robert Pine

Our newest Captain James Tiberius Kirk from the Star Trek franchise is Chris Pine, but you might also know him from Into the Woods, Horrible Bosses 2 or Rise of the Guardians in which he was the voice of the main protagonist, Jack Frost.

His father, Robert Pine starred in many television shows and he still does acting to this day. Today, you might be more familiar with his son, but before Star Trek and other movies, Robert Pine was the more recognizable name.


12. Lily Collins – Daughter of Phil Collins

If you are not familiar with Lilly Collins, you must know her famous father, Phil Collins. Even though Lilly could have climbed up on her father’s fame, she rather chose to build up her own career by acting and modeling. If you haven’t seen her in any movies, it is highly advised that you check out The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones or the 2012 Snow White Mirror Mirror remake.


11. Kate Hudson – Daughter of Goldie Hawn

Goldie Hawn as well as her daughter, Kate Hudson are both successful actresses who have a lengthy filmography. Even though Goldie Hawn has not starred in any movies recently, her daughter has carried on the legacy and became a world-renowned star.

Not only that Kate acted in many movies, such as How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Glee, but she did voice acting jobs as well, as she is the voice of Mei Mei in Kung Fu Panda 3.


10. Robin Thicke – Son of Alan Thicke

If you do not know who Robin Thicke is, you must be living under a rock! In 2013 Robin teamed up with T.I. and Pharrell to create the catchy song; Blurred Lines. The song did spark some controversy because of the depiction of women in the clip and there were accusations of stealing the song as well, as it closely resembles Marvin Gaye’s song, Got to Give It Up.

His father, Alan Thicke is a famous Canadian talk show host, actor and songwriter. He wrote the theme songs of numerous TV shows in the 70’s and 80’s. To this day, Alan acts and there are new movies and TV shows coming out that he stars in.


9. Dakota Johnson – Daughter of Melanie Griffith

Dakota Johnson’s first movie was in 1999, but she was only recently recognized for her acting skills. In 2015 she played the role of the submissive Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Gray and in 2016, she showed the World that she can be funny alongside Rebel Wilson, in How to Be Single.

Her mother, Melanie Griffith is also an actress, so it is no surprise that Dakota followed in her footsteps. We can only hope that she is going to have a better career than her mother and that we can still watch her movies for decades.


8. Lily Allen – Daughter of Keith Allen

You might already be more familiar with Lily, compared to her father, but Keith Allen has appeared in many movies and TV shows, he is also a musician and singer-songwriter. There are many movies to his name and he has built a successful career in music and film alike.

Keith Allen also has a famous son who is an actor. You might know Alfie Allen as Theon Greyjoy from Game of Thrones or as the guy who kills Keanu Reeves’s dog in John Wick.


7. Willow Smith – Daughter of Will Smith

Willow is currently 15 years old, but she already has her own album, entitled Ardipithecus. She surely has a magnificent and successful career in front of her in the music industry. Her father, Will Smith is completely supportive of her and he does everything that he possibly can to ensure the future of his precious little princess.

Jaden Smith is also worth mentioning, as he starred alongside his father in the movie After Earth and he also played Dre Parker in the 2010 remake, The Karate Kid. Unfortunately what Jaden is mostly known for is his philosophical and sometimes very confusing rants on Twitter.


6. Zoë Kravitz – Daughter of Lenny Kravitz

This 27-year-old singer, model, and actress already starred in many movies, such as Mad Max: Fury Road, X-Men: First Class as well as the Divergent series, where she played the role of Christina.

Zoë might not be as famous as her dad yet, but this can easily change, especially since she has various roles in major movies lined up. I am certain that we will hear about her a lot in the nearby future!


5. Liv Tyler – Daughter of Steven Tyler

Liv Tyler has an already successful career in Hollywood and this is solely due to her acting skills. Even though she is the daughter of Steven Tyler, the lead singer of the legendary band, Aerosmith, Liv is mostly known for her portrayal of Arwen, the beautiful elf in The Lord of the Rings movies.

In her earlier years, Liv also did child modeling, which can be mostly credited to her mother, Bebe Buell, a former fashion model.


4. Colin Hanks – Son of Tom Hanks

As they say; the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. This is especially true in the case of Colin Hanks, as not only that he looks very similar to his father, Tom Hanks, but he is also starting to become a household name in the film industry.

Mostly known for playing Travis Marshall, the slightly delusional character from Dexter, Colin is building up a pretty nice resume and we can expect to see him in many movies, in the nearby future. He also played many roles in various TV shows, such as Talking Tom and Friends, Life in Pieces and Fargo.


3. Miley Cyrus – Daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus

Some of us might remember Miley from when she was the innocent and cute Hannah Montana, but since then, she has changed her persona completely. If you look at any of her recent songs and clips, you will see that she has grown a lot and if you did not see the transformation, you would be barely able to recognize her.

Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus is a country singer and actor and he actually played the role of Robby Ray Stewart, the father of Miley Stewart in Hannah Montana, back in 2006.


2. Ben Stiller – Son of Jerry Stiller

Ben Stiller has a myriad of movies in his filmography, but did you know that his manager in the movie Zoolander is actually his dad? Yes, Jerry Stiller, who is mostly known for The King of Queens and Zoolander is the father of this famous actor. He himself did acting and you can still see him in various movies; even in a few where he co-stars his son.

Jerry Stiller is also a comedian and he did many comedy shows back in the day. His daughter, Amy Stiller does stand-up comedy, so we can safely say that both of his children followed in their father’s footsteps.


1. Charlie Sheen – Son of Martin Sheen

Charlie Sheen might not be winning right now, but a few years ago, he was the most paid actor in Hollywood. Charlie has many movies that he starred in, but he is mostly known for playing Charlie Harper in Two and a Half Men. Unfortunately for him (and fans of the show) he left the series in 2011. There are many other things that did not go as planned in his life, such as his HIV diagnosis as well as questionable interviews.

Martin Sheen, Charlie’s father also acted and he starred in a myriad of movies all throughout the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Even today, he has a few minor roles, but currently people are more likely to recognize Charlie’s name and not his father’s.

Emilio Estevez is also a member of this already successful family, as he is Martin’s son who pursued an acting career as well, just like his father and his younger brother; Charlie Sheen. He might not have as large of a filmography as other members of his family, but he still did his share of acting, writing and voice acting.
