Mark William Calaway, known to the wrestling public as The Undertaker is the wrestler to have the longest contract with WWE. He worked there since 1990, amazing his public and gaining more fans with each match.
Dedicating everything to the Occult
After taking the ring name of “The Undertaker” in 1990, he completely changed his persona and gimmicks, focusing more on scare tactics and using the supernatural as his ally.
The Undertaker, up until his loss in WrestleMania XXX against Brock Lesnar, had a whooping record of 21 victories in WWE’s WrestleMania event. The Undertaker also won the Royal Rumble of 2007, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for four times (November 1991, March 1997, May 1993 and May 2002), the World Heavyweight Championship three times (April 2007, March 2008 and October 2009) and the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship once as “Master of Pain” (April 1989).
Undertaker’s storyline brother, Kane, was introduced in 1997 and the two of them have been both enemies and allies (formed a tag team “Brothers of Destruction”) since then. Undertaker’s backstory has helped in adding variations to the usual wrestling ring, such as: the Casket match, the Bodybag match, the Buried Alive match, the Last Ride match and the Hell in a Cage match.
Family outside the ring
Calaway has a son, Gunner (born in 1993), from his first marriage with Jodi Lynn and two daughters, Chasey (born in 2002) and Gracie (born in 2005), from his second marriage with Sara. When his second marriage didn’t hold as well as his first, the Undertaker divorced and began a relationship with Michelle McCool, former wrestler. Two years after his third marriage, Calaway announced that he’s expecting another child with Michelle. Kaia Faith Calaway was born on the 29th of August, 2012.
