Barbara Jean Blank, known by her ring name “Kelly Kelly”, started off as a model for Venus Swimwear and Hawaiian Tropic. In 2006, she signed a contract with WWE and debuted later that year as “Kelly Kelly”.
Kelly’s character in the WWE world was an exhibitionist and stripper. The striptease acts continued throughout her career on the TV programme ECW.
Kelly’s also known for being the valet of Mike Knox, her on-screen boyfriend at that time. One year after her debut, Kelly Kelly teamed up with Layla and Brooke Adams to form a trio that would perform in “Extreme Exposé” on ECW.
The positive publicity Kelly received in these two years since her debut got her even more wrestling matches to fight in. Kelly tried to win the WWE Divas Championship several times, but with no success. June 2011 was when Kelly won her first title of WWE Divas Championship, a title that she would keep for only four months (Beth Phoenix took it from her in October).
After being released from her contract by WWE in September 2012, Kelly Kelly went ahead and began to appear on the independent circuit (similar to a minor league for professional wrestling).
Ranked as 82 in Maxim’s Hot 100 of 2011, Kelly Kelly got to be on the covers of Maxim’s December 2011 issue. One year later, in 2012, Kelly advanced from being the 82nd to being the 38th in Maxim’s Hot 100.
