Singer and songwriter Amelia Warner was married to actor Colin Farrell in 2001 from July to November. They married in Tahiti when Amelia was only 19 years old. At the time the musician who records under the name “Slow Moving Millie”, was starring in the movie “Lorna Doone” alongside actress Kate Winslet and met Colin at the premiere of the movie in London and from then they quickly became an item.
Bad boy behavior
Although this could have added to Colin’s profile of a “bad boy”, it was Amelia in fact who separated from him. Their whirlwind romance lasted only four months, the Irish actor saying: “I had a brief liaison with the notion of permanence.”
The British singer had a good influence on Colin, according to his mother “…when he was with Amelia he was very sweet. He was from a nice family and was a lovely young man, polite and well behaved. I can only assume that his “bad boy” behavior is to do with his career, which seems to be taking off. He is probably putting it all on.”
Heartbreaking end
Recent revealing from Amelia, tell that the beach ceremony was not legal and that they did it symbolically “It really wasn’t this secret wedding that no one was invited to. It was lovely, it was silly, it was sweet but by no means was it a serious thing and I think my mum thought it was quite funny.”
She also said that it was devastating for her when the relationship ended: “It was a very intense and passionate relationship. It was heartbreaking when it ended.”
Life after the divorce
Amelia is currently married to actor and model Jamie Dornan known for his role as “Cristian Grey” in the hit movie “Fifty Shades of Grey”, and have a baby girl together.
As for Colin, he has 2 sons, one with model Kim Bordenave and the other with Ondine costar, Alicja Bachleda-Curuś. The two young actors with promising careers got carried away at the time, today they are not making a big deal out of it.
