et’s start off the list with the highly anticipated sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This franchise is based on the world created by J. K. Rowling and the first movie was a box office hit. No wonder, Harry Potter fans are eager to watch anything that’s set in this universe. And the movie also has a very promising cast as well. The story will follow Gellert Grindelwald (perfectly portrayed by Johnny Depp), but we will see some other familiar faces too, such as Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander, Jude Law as Professor Albus Dumbledore and the fan favorite: Jacob Kowalksi (played by Dan Fogler).
If you want to see other movies that Johnny Depp has done, be sure to check out his IMDb page here!
Even though we don’t really know much about the second movie, it is highly anticipated by hardcore fans and the general audience alike. This is not a surprise considering how successful the first film was. All we currently have is a small clip of the cast portraying their characters. Although it’s not much, but we can see what to expect and which characters are making a return.
The release date of the second movie is still far away, but you can catch up on the story by watching the first film. Click here to order Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them online.
5. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
- Genre: Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
- Director: A. Bayona
- Production Company: Universal Pictures
- Release Date: June 22, 2018
M
any people criticized the first Jurassic World that it wasn’t true to the source material, but let’s be real; which remakes stay true to the original movies? Even though Jurassic World might not be Jurassic Park, it is still a stellar cinematic experience. The dinosaurs in the first film were great and we are not expecting anything less from Fallen Kingdom.
Most of the original cast is coming back so we can expect characters, such as Owen (Chris Pratt), Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), Wheaton (Toby Jones) and Dr. Henry Wu (B.D. Wong). Even Jeff Goldblum is making an appearance and playing the role of Ian Malcolm.
If you’re interested in Chris Pratt’s filmography, be sure to check out his IMDb page.
The second film takes place four years after the first one. In Fallen Kingdom, the team needs to return to the island that is infested with dinosaurs because the island is unstable and it’s going to blow up. They return to save as many dinosaurs as they can, as not only are they endangered, but they are in fact extinct.
Fallen Kingdom’s trailer is visually stunning and there’s a lot of hype around this movie. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until June for the release, but you can still watch the first Jurassic World movie by ordering or renting it from Amazon. Click here to order it now!
4. The Incredibles 2
- Genre: Animation, Action, Adventure
- Director: Brad Bird
- Production Company: Pixar, Walt Disney Pictures
- Release Date: June 14, 2018
T
he first Incredibles movie was a total success and it is considered to be one of the best Fantastic Four movies out there. Of course, this can also be because of the fact that most Fantastic Four movies were rubbish. Anyways, we are getting the old voice actors back, with Holly Hunter playing Elastigirl, Craig T. Nelson as Mr. Incredible, Brad Bird as Edna Mode and Samuel L. Jackson as the family’s best friend Frozone. We also know that “The Underminer” is the new villain of the film, voiced by John Ratzenberger.
Samuel L. Jackson might not be the main protagonist of this Pixar feature, but he has done a lot of great movies over the past few decades. Click here to check his full filmography now!
This Pixar and Disney animated movie is highly anticipated, even if there’s not really a lot of information about the plot. All we know is that the Parr family tries to live a normal life once again, but we all know that this won’t work for our favorite animated superheroes. Mr. Incredible becomes a stay-at-home dad, while Elastigirl goes out and fights crime. Bob Parr tries to solve their children’s problems and he realizes that their youngest child also has superpowers.
It is highly recommended that you watch the first Incredibles film before jumping into the second one, as it is necessary to understand the full story. If you haven’t watched the first movie yet, be sure to click here and check out this Amazon offer that we found about The Incredibles.

nlike most of our other entries on this top6 upcoming movies of 2018 list, Ready Player One isn’t a sequel, but rather an original idea created by Steven Spielberg. We all know that this is a legendary film director and it might be the reason for the immense hype behind this film. As you will see from the trailer, this film is chock-full of pop culture references. You can expect to see the DeLorean from Back to the Future, Tracer from Overwatch, Chucky from Child’s Play, King Kong and a multitude of other references in this upcoming 2018 film.

- Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy
- Directors: Rich Moore, Phil Johnston, Nathan Greno, Meg LeFauve
- Production Company: Walt Disney Animation Studios, Walt Disney Pictures
- Release Date: March 9, 2018
T
his is yet another animated movie by Walt Disney Pictures and it’s just as anticipated as The Incredibles 2! Wreck-It Ralph is a beloved character, but there are other reasons why this franchise is loved by the masses. The first instalment of the franchise made hilarious and smart video game references and introduced many interesting characters. The second film will have Ralph and the team “breaking the internet”, which means the reference possibilities are virtually limitless.
Wreck-It Ralph 2 will feature the same characters and voice actors; Ralph (John C. Reilly), Fix-It Felix (Jack McBrayer) and Vanellope (Sarah Silverman). Seemingly all Disney princesses will also make an appearance and they will be voiced by their original voice actors. Rapunzel (Mandy Moore), Mulan (Ming-Na Wen), Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell), Ariel (Jodi Benson) Belle (Paige O’Hara), Jasmine (Linda Larkin) and others will appear on the big screen.

1. Solo: A Star Wars Story
- Genre: Action, Sci-Fi
- Director: Ron Howard
- Production Company: Lucasfilm
- Release Date: May 25, 2018
T
he most anticipated upcoming movie on our list is: Solo: A Star Wars Story. There’s really not much about the movie yet; no trailer and no official information other than the core cast. However, hardcore Star Wars fans have always wanted a standalone Han Solo movie and they are very optimistic about this project.
The cast of Solo: A Star Wars Story consists of Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo), Emilia Clarke (Qi’Ra), Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian), Woody Harrelson (Tobias Beckett) and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca. The Millennium Falcon is also going to be a huge part of the movie, as you would expect from a Han Solo prequel.
Emilia Clarke has built a pretty nice filmography over the last few years. If you want to see all of the movies that she’s been featured in, click here for her IMDb page!
There are many who think that this is going to be a box office flop, but I don’t think so. It is a Star Wars film, so people will watch it. I also think that it is going to be one of the best movies of the upcoming year. And this is coming from someone who isn’t the biggest Star Wars fan. A Han Solo origin story could reveal a lot of things, especially since he was a mysterious character in the original trilogy. If somehow you haven’t watched Star Wars yet, I highly recommend it. We found a great deal on the original trilogy of Star Wars; click here to check that offer out!
Here’s how Ron Howard announced his new project:

ince there are so many highly anticipated upcoming movies in 2018, we’ve decided to feature a couple of honorable mentions. These films didn’t make the list, but they still deserve some attention because of their story, cast or visually stunning trailers. Let’s finish off this list of the top6 upcoming movies in 2018 with briefly talking about a few bonus entries, shall we?
Pacific Rim: Uprising
- Genre: Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
- Director: Steven S. DeKnight
- Production Company: Legendary Entertainment, Universal Pictures
- Release Date: March 22, 2018
J
aeger robots battling against giant Kaiju monsters! The first movie was a great cinematic experience, and the second one is surely going to be just as enjoyable. The trailer shows some action and a few things about the plot, but not much. We see that the war against the Kaijus is far from over and that the technology that the Jaegers use has evolved, just like the monsters did.
Some of the cast stayed the same and there are a few new faces too. The main role of Jake Pentecost has been given to John Boyega, but there are familiar characters too, such as Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi), Dr. Newton Geiszler (Charlie Day) and Dr. Hermann Gottlieb (Burn Gorman).
If you haven’t watched the first film, or you want to watch it again before Uprising is released, be sure to click here!
A Wrinkle in Time
- Genre: Adventure, Family, Fantasy
- Director: Ava DuVernay
- Production Company: Walt Disney Pictures, Bedrock Studios
- Release Date: March 9, 2018
T
he moment I saw the trailer for A Wrinkle in Time I knew that I would have to put it on this list somehow. It is yet another Disney project, but it’s not an animated movie, far from it. A Wrinkle in Time is based on the hit novel by Madeleine L’Engle and it delves into more serious concepts. The trailer alone showcases some visually breathtaking scenes and we hope the film will do the same.
The cast of A Wrinkle in Time consists of Levi Miller (Calvin), Chris Pine (Dr. Alex Murry), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Dr. Kate Murry), Oprah Winfrey (Mrs. Which), Reese Witherspoon (Mrs. Whatsit) and Zach Galifianakis (The Happy Medium).
This fantasy movie could easily be one of the best movies of 2018, but it can just as easily become the next box office flop. I’m personally very optimistic about the film and I hope that it will be just as good as the official trailer!

Maze Runner: The Death Cure
- Genre: Action, Sci-Fi, Thriller
- Director: Wes Ball
- Production Company: 20th Century Fox, Temple Hill Productions
- Release Date: January 25, 2018

nd the last honorable mention we are talking about is the new Maze Runner movie. This is a franchise that has been slowly building up its story and universe over the last two films and fans can’t wait for the third movie in the trilogy. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials has ended on a cliffhanger, so there’s one more reason why there’s so much hype behind this film.
The cast will remain almost the same with most of the characters making a comeback. You will see Dylan O’Brien (Thomas), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Newt), Rosa Salazar (Brenda), Kaya Scodelario (Teresa), Aidan Gillen (Janson) and a few other familiar, as well as new faces.
The Maze Runner franchise is one of those movies that’s made based on a successful teen adult novel. If you like those types of movies, you’ll love the Maze Runner. Click here to order the first movie right now!
