Velvet Sky, Jamie Lynn Szantyr by her real name, is a professional wrestler who worked mostly for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.
Up until this point of her career, Velvet managed to win two times the TNA Women’s Knockouts Championship and as part of “The Beautiful People” (Madison Rayne and Lacey Von Erich) to win the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship.
Velvet made her debut in the Independent Circuit, as the wrestler Miss Talia or Talia Doll. However, it took her three years to make it on Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, along with the decision of TNA to make their women’s division in 2007.
To celebrate its newest creation, TNA announced that they will have ten wresters in a 10-woman Gauntlet match, from which only one will receive the title of the first TNA Women’s Knockout Champion. Velvet Sky was one of the ten wrestlers that would compete for this title.
However, Velvet won her first TNA Women’s Knockout Champion title in October 16th 2011. She also defend it successfully in January 23rd 2013 in a four-way elimination match.
Velvet together with Angelina Love were put together to form the “Velvet Love Entertainment” group. Later, the group was renamed to “The Beautiful People”. The Beautiful People has had its share of drama, with Angelina Love’s release from TNA due to work visa problems. Prior to Love’s departure from The Beautiful People, Madison Rayne joined them. Love’s replacement was Lacey Von Erich and together they would win the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship.
Seems like Velvet really likes the wrestling world, being in a long-term relationship with Gregory Helms (known in WWE as The Hurricane). After their relationship has ended, Velvet ventured in another relationship (since June 2014) with a former TNA wrestler Mark LoMonaco also known as Bully Ray.
