Many people started out with the little shoot and print cameras otherwise known as <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Instant_camera\" target=\"_blank\">polaroids<\/a>, working their way to disposable cameras.<\/p>\n<p><strong>[CustomTables]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After a while, they started to work with digital cameras and then eventually graduated to the professional <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Digital_single-lens_reflex_camera\" target=\"_blank\">DSLR cameras<\/a> as they got older and saved up enough money to buy one. More and <strong>more people get into photography<\/strong> every year, no matter how big or small their skill is.<\/p>\n<p>There are so many kinds of photography out there. You have portraits, flash photography, black and white, colour, fashion, stock, still life, and so many others. There are at least <strong>eighty different photography categories<\/strong> altogether.<\/p>\n<p>What has sometimes be seen as nothing more than a hobby has become <strong>one of the highest paying careers<\/strong> depending on who photographers work for. Big people with money are willing to pay lots of\u00a0 money for the right photographers and photographs.<\/p>\n<p>In this article, we\u2019re going to be talking about twelve of the <strong>most expensive photographs of all time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>12. Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico by Ansel Adams<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-81761 size-medium\" title=\"Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico by Ansel Adams\" src=\"http:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Moonrise-300x165.jpg\" alt=\"ansel adams, Moonrise, most expensive photographs\" width=\"300\" height=\"165\" srcset=\"https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Moonrise-300x165.jpg 300w, https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Moonrise-250x137.jpg 250w, https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Moonrise-510x280.jpg 510w, https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Moonrise.jpg 536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"formatted-entry-p\">For <strong>$609,600<\/strong>, a print edition of <em>Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico<\/em> was sold in an auction by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sothebys.com\/en.html\" target=\"_blank\">Sotheby\u2019s <\/a>New York on October 17, 2006.<\/p>\n<p>The photograph was taken by American environmentalist and photographer, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anseladams.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ansel Adams<\/a>, on November 1, 1941. It features a <strong>black and white image of US Route 84-285<\/strong> in the afternoon during the later hours of the day.<\/p>\n<p><em>Moonrise<\/em> was considered a \u201c<em>perfect marriage of straight and pure photography<\/em>\u201d by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/H._W._Janson\" target=\"_blank\">H.W. Janson<\/a>, a Russian, American, and Baltic German art history educator.<\/p>\n<p>This photograph was the most popular one in Adam\u2019s career. Originally, the photographer had <strong>sold it for just $10<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The image features a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nautilus\" target=\"_blank\">nautilus shell<\/a> which is a cephalopod mollusk in a spiral shell and small in size tentacles surrounding its mouth.<\/p>\n<p>Weston has been named as one of the <strong>most influential photographers of all time<\/strong> and a master of photography in the 21st century.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=5sF8K1NfHnM<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>10. The <strong>photo was taken in Paris<\/strong> in August 1955.<\/p>\n<p>The black and white photograph shows American model, <strong>Dovima, posing between two elephants<\/strong>. This photograph was for Christian Dior\u2019s current collection at the time and it is shown through the dress that the model is wearing.<\/p>\n<div id=\"quote_shortcode\" class=\"sixtop-post-quote post-quote-right\" >\n<div class=\"quote-sign-box hidden-on-desktop\"><\/div>\n<p>        &ldquo; Posing between two elephants &rdquo;<\/p>\n<div id=\"quote_shortcode_after\">\n        <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vogue.com\/tag\/model\/dovima\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dovima<\/a>, originally named Dorothy, was one of the <strong>most paid models<\/strong> working for Vogue at the time. By selling this picture, it gave <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Edward_Weston\" target=\"_blank\">Weston<\/a> a new record.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>8. Bonney. He was a gunfighter born in New York City who <strong>fought in New Mexico City\u2019s war<\/strong> in the county of Lincoln. In November 2010, this photograph was <strong>sold for $2,700,000<\/strong> at an auction hosted by Phillips de Pury &amp; Co. in New York to an anonymous buyer.<\/p>\n<p>The image features another girl, but this time with blue-ish silver hair lying down on dirt and grass. <strong>She is dirty, covered with soil<\/strong>, and seems to be looking at the sky in a contemplative manner.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>5. The auctioned piece isn\u2019t the only copy out there. Some information states that this photo is from 2001 and some states that people <strong>think it actually came from 1999<\/strong> due to the fact that it occasionally referred to as <em>99 cent.1999<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The image is <strong>two images in a grocery store<\/strong>. It shows numerous aisles with various products all in bright and warm colours.<\/p>\n<p>On February 7, 2007, this picture was sold at an auction hosted by Sotheby\u2019s for <strong>$3.34 million<\/strong>. Two more prints were <strong>sold for $2.25 million<\/strong> in May 2006 in New York and for $2.28 million a few months later in November 2006 in the same place.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>3. The photograph taken in 1992 <strong>features a troop of men<\/strong> lying in a ditch after they were ambushed and <strong>attacked by the enemy<\/strong>. The artist\u2019s focus was criticizing male violence and how war can be so destructive.<\/p>\n<p>This image was actually <strong>created in a studio<\/strong> rather than taking a realistic image with a camera. All the men were put into the studio and lied down as a plain photo was being taken. It was the highest selling picture of all time until <em>Rhein II<\/em> took its place. The buyer\u2019s name was <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Philippe_S%C3%A9galot\" target=\"_blank\">Philippe Segalot<\/a>, a New York dealer.<\/p>\n<p>The photograph is of a <strong>woman with short orange hair<\/strong>, orange top, and orange and white checkered skirt lying down on an orange floor, holding what seems to be an ice cream wrapper.<\/p>\n<p>Sherman is someone who takes a lot of photos of herself, working on these projects alone. <strong>She does all of the shooting<\/strong> in her own studio and does most of the tasks such as makeup, hair, wardrobe, author, director, and model all on her own.<\/p>\n<p>She is not only a photographer, but a film director as well. <strong>She made her first film<\/strong> called <em>Office Killer<\/em> which was released on December 3, 1997.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"OFFICE KILLER TRAILER\" width=\"625\" height=\"469\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/36hhU0OuhHc?feature=oembed&#038;wmode=opaque\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>1. This photograph is of the River Rhine, a river in six European countries, and is the second and <strong>biggest of a set of six<\/strong>.
