This film has caused a stir in our zombie crazed society. Not since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=edLB6YWZ-R4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twilight <\/a>has a vampire film been so popular. (The only difference is Twilight sucked hard)<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"What We Do in the Shadows - Official Trailer\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IAZEWtyhpes?feature=oembed&#038;wmode=opaque\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>Unusual Film<\/h3>\n<p>Strictly speaking, \u201cWhat We Do in the Shadows\u201d is another <a href=\"http:\/\/6toplists.com\/top-10-scariest-ghost-movies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">horror <\/a>pseudo-documentary (at first sight), but its sense of humor and naughty execution bring it closer to the style of sitcoms such as \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2iKZmRR9AR4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Office<\/a>\u201d and \u201cParks and Recreation\u201d, and the final result is an unusual film with likable characters, sharp humor and very appropriate observations about the clich\u00e9s of horror cinema.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-39147 size-medium\" title=\"What We Do in the Shadows funny cast\" src=\"http:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/What-We-Do-in-the-Shadows-A-Vampire-Comedy-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"What We Do in the Shadows, Vampire comedy\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/What-We-Do-in-the-Shadows-A-Vampire-Comedy-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/What-We-Do-in-the-Shadows-A-Vampire-Comedy-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/What-We-Do-in-the-Shadows-A-Vampire-Comedy-250x166.jpg 250w, https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/What-We-Do-in-the-Shadows-A-Vampire-Comedy-510x339.jpg 510w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Thanks to that ingenious combination of elements, \u201cWhat We Do in the Shadows\u201d feels very different to the usual &#8220;found footage&#8221; films. The hand-held camera technique adapts itself quite well to the screenplay, and there is no need to make any traps to follow the characters, even during the most &#8220;extreme&#8221; moments of paranormal activity; and when the camera can&#8217;t be present, we always have the alternative of the &#8220;recreations&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h3>Instant Classic<\/h3>\n<p>It embraces all of the Vampire &#8220;stereotypes&#8221; and puts them to funny use. This is in large part due to it&#8217;s documentary style. We see camera men slaughtered by creatures and all forefront characters getting face time via interviews.<\/p>\n<p>With such a small film like this, usually the special effects are sub par. And for the most part you give them leeway for the budget they are working with. This is not the case with \u201cWhat We Do In The Shadows\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The effects have a Chris Nolan feel to them. It opts to go either practical or CGI. And it works so incredibly well. Sure, there&#8217;s lots of blood and gore, flesh eating zombies aplenty, and F-bombs beyond counting. And like most zombie flicks, this one follows an ever shrinking band of civilians as they try to survive against the undead hordes. <\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Shaun of the Dead Trailer\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OMitSKT-u_k?feature=oembed&#038;wmode=opaque\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>But unlike the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=36X8C7nlbE4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dawn of the Dead<\/a>\u201d, \u201cShaun of the Dead\u201d is smart, witty, and absolutely hilarious. For those dazed by grim, near identical shoot-em-ups with about as much intelligence as the monsters they portray, Shaun of the Dead is a breath of fresh air.<\/p>\n<h3>The Funny Plot<\/h3>\n<p>At first, it actually seems like a typical slacker comedy. Shaun (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0670408\/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Simon Pegg<\/a>) is a thoroughly average Londoner who shares a flat with his friends from high school, works the day shift at the local electronics store, has issues with his stepfather, and is in a rut with his girlfriend, who dumps him after he screws up their anniversary.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-39162 size-medium\" title=\"Shaun of the Dead cast\" src=\"http:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/shaun-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Shaun of the Dead, best horror comedy\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/shaun-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/shaun-250x165.jpg 250w, https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/shaun-510x338.jpg 510w, https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/shaun.jpg 740w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>In short, his life sucks. At this point the last thing he needs is hordes of mindless undead knocking at his door. But when the zombie apocalypse descends on England, it just might be his chance to show he&#8217;s not a complete loser after all.<\/p>\n<p>Shaun of the Dead starts off strong, delivering hilarious comedy. And it only gets funnier when the zombies get involved. They bicker, argue, and get on each other&#8217;s nerves like they&#8217;ve known each other for their entire lives. More than once, it occurred to me that this movie could be considered \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=r0r7L8tS2L0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Night of the Living Dead<\/a>\u201d meets \u201cthe Office\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShaun of the dead\u201d isn&#8217;t for everyone. It&#8217;s violent, it&#8217;s gory, and people in it swear like sailors. But it just might be one the best horror comedy since the days of Abbot and Costello. At the local village they are directed to a cottage where there is free lodgings. Inevitably Jimmy and Fletch excitement to spend time with the hot girls is soon curtailed as they are turning into <a href=\"http:\/\/6toplists.com\/best-vampire-tv-shows\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vampires<\/a> and under attack.<\/p>\n<h3>The Absolute Winner<\/h3>\n<p>This is a post modern wind up which featured the then popular television duo of Corden and Horne. Their participation ensured enough of a budget for better production values and special effects which actually goes toe to toe with more expensive Hollywood horror films. Some of the humour is infantile but it will surely raise a laugh. There is some sassiness with the girls and blood is replaced by white goop.
