<\/strong>Everyone is definitely tangled up<\/strong> in the whole vampire idea<\/strong>. Are they real<\/strong>? Are they walking among us<\/strong>? How can I become one? Only the name alone just screams mystery<\/strong> and<\/strong> there are more<\/strong> than enough legends<\/strong> to go around that inspire us<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Vampire fiction<\/strong> has caused a big craze in the 18th centur<\/strong>y and it hasn`t lost<\/strong> its popularity<\/strong> at all with the passing of time. It`s the sense of danger and secrecy that just draws us to them, not to mention the idea<\/strong> that people are not<\/strong> always what they seem<\/strong>. If we<\/strong> were to find out<\/strong> vampires are real<\/a>, that would become one of the most exciting features<\/strong> of our lives, and despite the fact that most stories say we will be more of a buffet for them.<\/p>\n

When did it all start?<\/h3>\n

There has been a great deal of literature<\/strong> that deals with vampires<\/strong>, but the most renown probably are Bram Stoker and Anne Rice<\/strong>. They`ve set up<\/strong> some high standards<\/strong>. Have you ever wondered why you believe vampires<\/strong> can turn into bats<\/strong>? Or why you think they are undoubtedly good looking<\/strong>? It was Bram Stoker<\/strong> that consolidated<\/strong> the bond between<\/strong> the vampire<\/strong> and the bats<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He ignored the fact<\/strong> that bats<\/strong> are kind of small animals<\/strong>, and in doing so he set the bases<\/strong> of one of the most debated ability of vampires<\/strong>: can they really shape shift<\/strong>? In his book Count Dracula<\/a> frequently disguises as a bat in pursue of his meals. What other abilities<\/strong> do they possess? According to Anne Rice, immortality<\/strong>, super strength<\/strong> and agility<\/strong>. Who wouldn`t want all these?<\/p>\n

How can I recognize a vampire?<\/h3>\n

The first pictures<\/strong> that come in<\/strong> our minds<\/strong> are of a young tall persons<\/strong> with<\/strong> pale skin<\/strong>, mesmerizing eyes<\/strong> and red lips<\/strong>. All in all, not a bad representation. Only later do the victims notice<\/strong> their long white fangs<\/strong> and the blood thirst<\/strong> from their eyes<\/strong>, but by that time, it`s usually too late. What makes the whole vampire myth<\/strong> sell well<\/strong> is the fact that<\/strong> everyone is sure they will be either handsome or <\/strong>beautiful<\/a>. Would we like<\/strong> them less if they<\/strong> were not so hot<\/strong>? Luckily most representations of vampires<\/strong> nowadays don`t trouble us<\/strong> to answer<\/strong> that question.<\/p>\n
