This is a story about an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-2909889\/Teacher-10-month-affair-16-year-old-student-caught-leaving-love-letter-boy-office-printer.html\" target=\"_blank\">affair <\/a>between a high school<strong> student<\/strong> and his <strong>teacher<\/strong>. The events, feelings and interactions that make it up are just as<strong> real<\/strong> as the other things in this movie, yet the movie gives us only <strong>brief glimpses<\/strong> of this<strong> relationship<\/strong>, as the characters are stripped naked &#8211; mainly their <strong>souls<\/strong>, but also their <strong>bodies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>What does it take to create such a story?<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-24737 size-medium\" title=\"Stig and Viola from movie All Thing Fair\" src=\"http:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/all-things-fair-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"romantic sscene form all thing fair movie 1995\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/>Only a <strong>young man<\/strong> growing up at <strong>difficult times<\/strong>, who is merely beginning to <strong>discover<\/strong> the mysteries of body changes and all-consuming effects puberty. <strong>Stig<\/strong> (staring<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0927092\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Johan Widerberg<\/a>) is a <strong>15-year-old<\/strong> boy who gets tangled up in a <strong>relationship<\/strong> that only makes his life more<strong> complicated<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>He <strong>falls in lov<\/strong>e with his <strong>schoolteacher<\/strong> Viola (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0481217\/\" target=\"_blank\">Marika Lagercrantz<\/a>), who is 22 years his senior. All Things Fair is a strange kind of film because it is constantly transforming itself. While it remains a<strong> coming-of-age film<\/strong>, it also ranges in its focus,<strong> touching<\/strong> on many different expressions.<\/p>\n<p>The<strong> actors are superb<\/strong>, the <strong>settings are atmospheric<\/strong>, and the era of the 1940s Sweden is perfectly <strong>represented<\/strong>. Widerberg makes it <strong>all work<\/strong> in a <strong>misty<\/strong> yet sensuous manner. He manages to create a <strong>story<\/strong> that <strong>embeds<\/strong> dramatic portrayal of various sides of human problems, <strong>relationships<\/strong> and <strong>emotions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Performances<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Performances<\/strong> are <strong>tops<\/strong> throughout. <strong>Johan Widerberg<\/strong> is at his <strong>best<\/strong> under his father\u2019s guidance, not to mention, Lagercrantz , as <strong>Viola<\/strong>, proves herself to be one of <a href=\"http:\/\/6toplists.com\/kirsten-dunst\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sweden\u2019s most versatile actresses<\/a>, and <strong>von Bromssen<\/strong> is excellent in a demeaning part. But what probably <strong>never crossed our minds<\/strong> is being framed you for <strong>murder<\/strong> <strong>by one<\/strong>! When a high school <strong>English literature teacher<\/strong> takes maternity leave, substitute <strong>Molly Matson<\/strong> (staring the stunningly attractive <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0004861\/\" target=\"_blank\">Josie Davis.<\/a>) <strong>arrives<\/strong> to fill out the year.<\/p>\n<p>The new teacher, who apparently had suffered a very<strong> traumatic childhood<\/strong>, develops an instant crush on <strong>Danny<\/strong>, an 18-year-old senior with affluent parents. <strong>She<\/strong> immediately <strong>begins seeing Danny<\/strong> (staring <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm3846716\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cameron Deane Stewart<\/a><strong>)<\/strong> after school,<strong> texting him<\/strong>, asking him <strong>out to dinner<\/strong>, and then over to <strong>her house<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"quote_shortcode\" class=\"sixtop-post-quote post-quote-right\" >\n<div class=\"quote-sign-box hidden-on-desktop\"><\/div>\n<p>        &ldquo; She immediately begins seeing Danny after school &rdquo;<\/p>\n<div id=\"quote_shortcode_after\">\n        <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Jamie<\/strong> starts to <strong>suspect<\/strong> that <strong>Danny<\/strong> is<a href=\"http:\/\/www.askmen.com\/dating\/cheating.html\" target=\"_blank\"> cheating<\/a> on her, so she follows him to <strong>Ms. Matson\u2019s<\/strong> house, where she<strong> peeks<\/strong> through the <strong>back door<\/strong> and<strong> sees them<\/strong>. At first, <strong>she\u2019s totally outraged<\/strong>, but then <strong>Danny apologizes<\/strong> and they plan to try working things out.<\/p>\n<p>However,<strong> Danny<\/strong> makes the <strong>mistake<\/strong> of <strong>meeting Matson<\/strong> in an empty <strong>park<\/strong> in the <strong>middle of the night<\/strong> and breaking up with her. And as you imagine, this <strong>didn`t do him much good<\/strong>. The following day, <strong>Jamie<\/strong> is accused and <strong>put under<\/strong> house arrest<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/House_arrest\" target=\"_blank\">.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>I`ve heard many bad reviews. Why should I watch this?<\/h3>\n<p>The plot might sound like it`s been recycled one too many times, but it has certain elements that make the <strong>movie`s<\/strong> structure more <strong>interesting<\/strong>, for example, the <strong>focus on Danny<\/strong> as the conflicted protagonist, <strong>not Jamie<\/strong>. The story sticks to formula and <strong>all the players<\/strong>, including director Doug Campbell and his crew, <strong>essay their roles<\/strong> well.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>9th: Daydream Nation<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"DAYDREAM NATION (2010) | (Good Movies) | Hollywood.com Movie Trailers | #movies #movietrailers\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kGGyhDvpzok?feature=oembed&#038;wmode=opaque\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"formatted-entry-p\">A <strong>city girl<\/strong> who <strong>moves<\/strong> to a small town and becomes entangled in a<strong> love triangle<\/strong> <strong>between<\/strong> her <strong>high school teacher<\/strong> and another <strong>classmate<\/strong>. This sounds a bit clich\u00e9 but you will <strong>definitely<\/strong> be <strong>surprised<\/strong> at this weird, funny and strangely <strong>beautiful movie<\/strong>, wedged between the usual coming-of-age shenanigans.<\/p>\n<p>Daydream Nation <strong>offers<\/strong> a harsh, <strong>satirical whiff<\/strong> of the end of the <strong>world as imagined by a teenager<\/strong> who has<strong> moved with her <\/strong>widowed<strong> father<\/strong> to a tiny town in the middle of nowhere from the big city.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-24777 size-medium\" title=\"Kat Dennings and Josh Lucas\" src=\"http:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/daydream-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"romantic scene from a daydream nation movie\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/daydream-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/daydream.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>The <strong>movie is<\/strong> all <strong>about<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0993507\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kat Dennings&#8217; <\/a>character (<strong>Caroline Wexler<\/strong>) and what it&#8217;s like to be a <strong>teen in a new town<\/strong>, at a <strong>new school<\/strong>, when it <strong>feels like<\/strong> the whole <strong>world is about to end<\/strong> at any moment.<\/p>\n<h3>Isn`t she overreacting a little?<\/h3>\n<p>That`s mostly for<strong> you to decide<\/strong>. The plot follows <strong>Caroline<\/strong> who <strong>moves to a small town<\/strong>. When <strong>she can&#8217;t relate to the locals<\/strong> who didn`t know her, she decides to <strong>re-invent herself<\/strong>, so she could become anyone she wanted to. The<strong> town<\/strong> she moved into <strong>isn`t<\/strong> really a piece of heaven.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, it`s everything but ordinary, with an <strong>industrial fire<\/strong> that&#8217;s been <strong>burning for months<\/strong>, a <strong>serial killer<\/strong> wearing a white suit on the loose and the<strong> local townies<\/strong> <strong>mix<\/strong> whatever household chemicals they can just to catch a quick high.<\/p>\n<p>So, what&#8217;s a girl with no identity to <strong>do<\/strong>? For starters, she <strong>seduces her teacher<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0524197\/\" target=\"_blank\">Josh Lucas<\/a>) and even covers it up by <strong>sleeping with one<\/strong> of the townie stoners (<strong>Thompson<\/strong>). <\/p>\n<div id=\"quote_shortcode\" class=\"sixtop-post-quote post-quote-right\" >\n<div class=\"quote-sign-box hidden-on-desktop\"><\/div>\n<p>        &ldquo; Dennings`s performance just blows your mind away &rdquo;<\/p>\n<div id=\"quote_shortcode_after\">\n        <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>When the <strong>young boy starts to fall for Caroline<\/strong>, it makes<strong> things<\/strong> a little more <strong>complicated<\/strong>, <strong>but in the end<\/strong> it all weaves together into a <strong>wonderfully written story<\/strong> that is both <strong>fun and sad<\/strong>. The characters are all people we could relate to.<\/p>\n<h3>The plot doesn`t sound so great?<\/h3>\n<p>It might seem like the story is a bit farfetched, but <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mtv.com\/photos\/2014-peoples-choice-awards-red-carpet-mtv-style\/1720131\/8824836\/photo\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dennings`s performance<\/a> just <strong>blows your mind away<\/strong> &#8211; even more so if you were expecting to see yet another clich\u00e9 movie. <strong>She&#8217;s<\/strong> <strong>funny and witty<\/strong>, and the next thing you know <strong>she breaks your heart<\/strong>. There&#8217;s a <strong>lovely balance<\/strong> in this movie of humor and lyricism and incredible tension, making <strong>Dennings<\/strong> one <strong>unforgettable character<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Josh Lucas sneaks up on you with <strong>another original performance<\/strong> &#8212; he&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/article-2808111\/Josh-Lucas-Jessica-Ciencin-Henriquez-divorce-just-two-years-marriage.html\" target=\"_blank\">charming and despicable<\/a> and hilarious. But the real surprise is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm1107127\/\" target=\"_blank\">Reece Thompson<\/a>, whose <strong>performance<\/strong> as a <strong>high school kid<\/strong> muddling his way through grief and first love will pull a <strong>string in your heart<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If Daydream Nation<strong> wasn`t surprising<\/strong> enough in itself, you will <strong>also be surprised<\/strong> to find out it`s the <strong>debut movie<\/strong> of Goldbach as director, who is without a doubt a <strong>great talent<\/strong> for <strong>striking images<\/strong> and a steady hand at <strong>creating a mood<\/strong>. He <strong>knows<\/strong> how to <strong>move the camera<\/strong> with confidence and plant it with an even greater assurance, in order to <strong>make a simple story<\/strong> seem <strong>more complicated<\/strong> that it needs to be, an impression that\u2019s harder to shake as the plot <strong>take a turn<\/strong> for the absurd towards the end.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>8th: Die Welle (The Wave)<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"THE WAVE (2008) - Trailer (English Subtitles)\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4FYDF8wGn5E?feature=oembed&#038;wmode=opaque\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"formatted-entry-p\">There is <strong>no trace of cheerfulness<\/strong> in this movie, as we have seen in other teacher-student related movies. In The Wave a high school teacher&#8217;s <strong>unusual experiment<\/strong> <strong>demonstrates<\/strong> to his students what <strong>life<\/strong> is like <strong>under<\/strong> a dictatorship, but his <strong>project spins horribly<\/strong> out of control when he <strong>forms a social unit<\/strong> with a life of its own. This is probably one of the few <strong>movies<\/strong> of this list whose<strong> purpose<\/strong> is to pass a valuable life lesson.<\/p>\n<h3>We`re all tired of life lessons!<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-24792 size-medium\" title=\"Actor Jurgen Vogel as the teacher in The Wave movie\" src=\"http:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/wave-die-welle-8-300x184.jpg\" alt=\"Die Welle (The Wave) movie scene\" width=\"300\" height=\"184\" srcset=\"https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/wave-die-welle-8-300x184.jpg 300w, https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/wave-die-welle-8-768x472.jpg 768w, https:\/\/6toplists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/wave-die-welle-8.jpg 814w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>This might be what you`re thinking but you should at least <strong>give this movie a chance<\/strong> to prove it`s worth. Based on an infamous <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Third_Wave\" target=\"_blank\">1967 teaching experiment<\/a> in California conducted by Ron Jones, this didactic drama<strong> transplants the action<\/strong> to modern-day Germany, where <strong>Rainer<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0900915\/\" target=\"_blank\">J\u00fcrgen Vogel<\/a>), a high school <strong>teacher<\/strong>, is trying to <strong>convey<\/strong> the finer points of <strong>autocracy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Die Welle is <strong>truly a brilliant tale<\/strong> that lures viewers into its cleverly developed plot just as <strong>Wenger lures his unsuspecting students<\/strong> into a challenge. When Wenger gets selected to teach a<strong> class on autocracy<\/strong>, he is <strong>upset at first<\/strong>. However, he soon <strong>comes up with a plan<\/strong> that will teach the students a <strong>valuable lesson<\/strong> on the sheer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marxists.org\/archive\/trotsky\/works\/1944\/1944-fas.htm\" target=\"_blank\">dangers of fascism<\/a> and the ease with which one can be <strong>lured into it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>His <strong>class starts out as nonthreatening<\/strong>. The <strong>students are instructe<\/strong>d to choose a leader, wear a uniform and create a <strong>name for themselves<\/strong> (Die Welle &#8211; &#8220;The Wave&#8221;). But, this <strong>club<\/strong> slowly<strong> turns<\/strong> into an isolated fascist regime. The <strong>unsuspecting students think<\/strong> they are <strong>participating<\/strong> in some sort of <strong>fun club<\/strong>, but in reality they are really being shown just <strong>how easily people<\/strong> can be <strong>attracted by autocracy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"quote_shortcode\" class=\"sixtop-post-quote post-quote-right\" >\n<div class=\"quote-sign-box hidden-on-desktop\"><\/div>\n<p>        &ldquo; Wenger brought up the subject of Hitler's reign &rdquo;<\/p>\n<div id=\"quote_shortcode_after\">\n        <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This movie is not short in biting irony as, at the beginning of the class, <strong>Wenger brought up the subject of Hitler&#8217;s reign<\/strong>, and the students almost instinctively denied that Germany would ever <strong>fall into that trap again<\/strong>, given what they know now. However, <strong>they soon<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/contributed\/2013-10-24\/greatest-most-relevant-speech-ever\" target=\"_blank\">eat their words <\/a>when they become members of a much less disturbing, yet frightening similar clique.<\/p>\n<h3>This movie sounds grim. Why should I watch it?<\/h3>\n<p>The Wave is a compelling <strong>allegorical thriller<\/strong> with a superb, shocking and <strong>powerful screenplay<\/strong> and direction. Its<strong> great acting<\/strong> makes you feel drawn into the action as the <strong>drama unfolds<\/strong>. Despite its initial slow pace that makes you <strong>hold your breath for more<\/strong>, it ends up with <strong>gathering momentum<\/strong> and dire consequences.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>way<\/strong> the different <strong>children reacted<\/strong> and how such a seemingly <strong>innocent experiment<\/strong> profoundly <strong>affected their lives<\/strong> was incredible and horrifying.
