The second challenger for the top of \u201cWorst movie of 2014\u201d<\/em> has to be \u201cTransformers: Age of extinction<\/a>\u201d directed by Michael Bay. Oh Bay, why? Just\u2026WHY? But to be honest I\u2019m not really THAT surprised<\/strong>, I mean come on, it\u2019s Michael Bay.<\/p>\n

Let me start by saying I\u2019m a big fan of Transformers. I love the series, the concept and even loved the animated series that used to air on TV. Hell, I even loved the previous Transformer movies<\/strong>, except for the 3rd one<\/strong>. It is one of my favorite franchises and I just felt like punching my face to the brink of death for the duration of the 2 and a half hours, just to make it hurt so bad that I would not be able to watch it.<\/p>\n

\"NicolaTransformers: Age of Extinction is a disaster<\/strong>. The movie is 165 minutes of incoherent nonsense and if you thought that’s what the previous movies were, well, you might start appreciating them after seeing this.<\/p>\n

The movie has that god awful Michael Bay<\/a> humor that we saw in the previous movies. It’s not funny at all and there is so much of it so often it makes you cringe. It’s like watching a senile old man running naked on the street. It’s sad and it makes you feel uncomfortable<\/strong>. But that stuff was there before as well. What I loved about the Transformers movies, or what anyone loves about them, was watching the robots transform and fight. The previous movies had memorable moments.<\/p>\n

This one has enough chase scenes and slow motion explosions for the whole of 2014 and would it have killed them if to build some characters developed for the transformers<\/strong>. Because they are created as one dimensional punchlines there is no possibility to have any interesting story that involves the transformers interacting with each other.<\/p>\n

On the up side, the special effects were visually pleasing, but would have been better if I cared what was going on. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a \u201chater\u201d<\/strong><\/em>. I tried so hard to be interested in this film but I found myself looking at my watch obsessively for the last hour.<\/p>\n
