This is an interesting period for music\u00a0and all the people who listen\u00a0to alternative music today. We know that alternative and guitar music isn\u2019t as popular as it used to be but still, there are a lot of groups that are doing something interesting, and here we are going to present 7 of the most popular alternative rock albums of 2017.<\/p>\n

Here we have a cool, simple record that\u2019s constructed of standard elements – guitar, bass, drums – layered on top of one another and it creates that perfect tension that every good record needs to have.<\/p>\n

This is the third studio album from this Canadian duo and it is recognizable. They haven\u2019t moved away from their sound, but you can hear how they evolved\u00a0and grew as a group.<\/p>\n

The single from this album does not really represent this album though. It is maybe too soft, too relaxed with some lyrical clich\u00e9s, \u201cI used to be good but now I\u2019m bad\u201d. The lyrical content is pretty much what we expected.<\/p>\n

The themes are pretty much the same, drinking, girls and their hometown, Vancouver. In the song \u201cNorth East South West\u201d – which is probably the best song on the album – the singer\/guitarist Brian King<\/a> sings about his thoughts on the autobiographical experience of\u00a0the touring life of the band with some nice acoustic guitar playing.<\/p>\n

The thing that this album lacks is probably that sense of humor that the previous one had so this one will not put a grin on your face. A nice surprise is a seven-minute song called \u201cArc of Bar\u201d which is a centerpiece of this album but it doesn\u2019t move anywhere and in the end, you again get this feeling of lyrical clich\u00e9.<\/p>\n

The rest of the album has a Foo Fighters or Black Keys type rock sound, with some nice riffs and melodies which are probably the strongest point of the band. The album is pretty short, only 36:45 and we think this band holds their point still.<\/p>\n
