At the end of August, hackers stole nude photos from actresses like Jennifer Lawrence, Victoria Justice, Kate Upton and others. Due to an iCloud hack the photos are now out there.
The ignition started when two naked photos of Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton were on the internet and the actress and model wanted to know where the photos came from. After discovering the hack at iCloud it only took a few hours to discover some more nude photos with celebrities like Kaley Cuoco, Kirsten Dunst, Kim Kardashian, Scarlett Johansson, Yvonne Strahovski and Ariana Grande posted to reddit.
Jennifer Lawrence showed herself very angry and indignant when the whole affair happened and actually said: “’Just because I’m a public figure, just because I’m an actress, does not mean that I asked for this,” she told Vanity Fair. ”I started to write an apology, but I don’t have anything to say I’m sorry for.”
There were released photos and videos from 100 people including celebrities that later on they issued statements to either confirm or deny the photos’ authenticity. Many other celebrities spoke up for the unfortunate event. Actress Emma Stone named the comments on the leaked photos as “such a lack of empathy” and actress Lena Dunham asked the Twitter community not to view the photos because if so it “violates these women over and over again. It’s not okay.”
The incident stuck with the name “The Fappening” and it has three parts, nude photos being released at intervals of time within a week and a couple of hours, which led us to The “Fappening 1”, “The Fappening 2” and on September 26, “The Fappening 3”.
