A long, long time ago there was an epic saga that captured our imagination and hearts, that would change not only cinema and our minds but also the way we saw the world from that moment on. It seemed like the possibilities were endless and it altered the course of history.

Star Wars, captivating young people for generations.

It was “Star Wars”. The embodiment of the fight between good and evil, between the freedom & equality of republic and power &  tyranny of empire, light and darkness, the old and the new, the father and the son. It made us hope, dream of a brighter future, each and every one of us seeing our reflection in a universe of what if’s. Plus we had light sabres, a Death Star, X-wing and Tie Fighter dogfights in space….with laser guns. Now I’m sad that I don’t have a light sabre and an X-Wing.

Star Wars 1977 Millennium Falcon

Luke’s journey to save the Princess.

This is the beginning……or the sequel? Well isn’t it called “Episode IV”? But it’s the first instalment, from 1977. Anyway, “A New Hope” is the brainchild of George Lucas and this is where it all started. A young boy (Luke Skywalker) from Tatooine sets out on an adventure with an old Jedi named Obi-Wan Kenobi as his mentor to save Princess Leia from the ruthless Darth Vader and to destroy the Death Star built by the Empire which has the power to destroy the entire galaxy. Not bad to cover all of that in a single (first) episode, right?

But you already knew that right? I mean have you been living under a rock for the past 40 years or what? Go watch the movie already if you haven’t seen it yet.
