If we’re talking about rising child stars, we’re talking about Joseph Gordon Levitt. From the gothic soap opera Dark Shadows to his directorial debut of hitRECord, Joseph is one of the former child stars who had a spectacular rise to the top and he’s not even settling down yet.
Joseph’s early career was known for his appearances in ABC’s revival Dark Shadows that lasted one season. From 1996 to 2001 the actor starred in the hit NBC sitcom 3rd Rock From The Sun and in 1999 he had a leading role alongside actor Heath Ledger and actress Julia Stiles in the high school comedy 10 Thing I Hate About You which brought him a Young Star Award nominee.
Joseph made a positive impression with the movie The Lookout in 2007 and in 2009 he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for the movie (500) Days of Summer with co-star Zoey Deschanel.
What made Joseph’s name known was the science fiction thriller Inception, where he actually replaced actor James Franco to star alongside actor Leonardo DiCaprio and actress Ellen Page and received great reviews for the movie in 2010.
For the previous years he received roles that put his acting career into the spotlight. He began filming The Dark Knight Rises in 2011 and he played the younger version of Bruce Willis in the time travel thriller Looper and for the sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, he received once again positive reviews.
His directorial debut was made with the movie Don Jon where he also stars alongside actresses Scarlett Johansson and Julian Moore.
Joseph is really private when it comes to his personal life. The actor has been dating actresses Meagan Good, Evan Rachel Wood and Phoebe Tonkin. In May this year he admitted that he has a girlfriend but she is not in the show business and is not currently thinking about marriage.
As for his future projects, Joseph is currently filming Untitled Christmas Eve Project and The Walk that will appear on the big screen in 2015. We’re looking forward to see what this all grown up child star has to offer more.
