Previously I shared my top 10 favorite fatalities in this game. Now I’ll share my favorite characters in this game as well as where they come from and what sick & twisted moves the developers gave them.
1. Cassie Cage
Starting directly with the Cage family since they were the closing part of the last article, Cassie is the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade. Cassie follows the fast martial arts movement of her dad primarily with some weapons usage as legacy from her mom in one of her fighting styles. This is also her first appearance in the Mortal Kombat universe and hopefully, not the last. Below, there’s a nifty crafted table that portrays all her kombos, special and finishing moves.

2. Jacqui Briggs
Another Earthrealm warrior is Jacqui Briggs, daughter of Jax Briggs, which, against his wish, she joined the military and ultimately Cassie’s Special Forces Unit.
She uses various weapons like Machine Gun or Shotgun in aid of her fighting moves.

A character from Outworld, D’Vorah is part of Kytinn, an insect-like race, from the island realm of Arnyek.
Her special moves involve mostly her bugs that live inside her with the 3rd Fighting style being based on her being completely venomous.

Another new addition in the Mortal Kombat universe, Ferra/Torr is a combo from Outworld between a young female and her giant mount.

8. Shinnok
Once one of the Elder Gods, this mighty opponent, banished by the other Gods due to his crimes against the fellow deities. In Mortal Kombat X, in the tower fights he uses his amulet to become a corrupted version of himself, thus receiving greater damage-inflicting capabilitiy. Otherwise he mostly relies on his magic abilities to defeat his opponent.

9. Raiden
This Thor-like character, masters the thunders and electricity and is one of the Elder Gods, protecting the Earth. He is the main reason why Shinnok got banished.
As already guessed, Raiden uses electrical moves to bring down whoever opposes him. Also: Human Pikachu.

10. Sub-Zero
Sub-Zero has a long history, all the way back to the first Mortal Kombat game and he is the only character that appeared in every MK game. Sub-Zero fights alongside Raiden in various disputes against the former Elder God, Shinnok. His fighting moves relies on his ability to control ice in various forms.
